Illustrator - Product Launch
Aftershoot
Product, Design
New Delhi, Delhi, India
At Aftershoot, we’re building a global community of photographers who spend less time behind their screens and more time behind the lens. Every feature we create, every update we ship, is designed to make post-processing easier, faster, and smarter for photographers around the world.
From culling to editing to retouching. Our AI tools do all the heavy lifting, so photographers can focus on what they do best: capturing moments, telling stories, and creating magic.
We’re a fast-growing, passionate team backed with over 100K+ active users globally. Double-digit ARR in less than 4 years, amazing investors and team who truly believe in our mission.
Our mission is clear: Become the default companion for every photographer in the world.
If you care deeply about building meaningful products, working with curious and driven teammates, and being part of a team that genuinely loves what they do, we’d love to meet you.
Let’s create the future of AI in photography, together.
This is an in-person role - the illustrator must be able to work from our Delhi office on 13th May. Please only apply if you are based in or can travel to Delhi.
Style we're going for:
Hand-drawn line work - loose and expressive, not digitally clean or vector-perfect
Ink + selective flat colour - black sketch lines with restrained colour washes, not full colour illustration
Narrative, vignette-style frames - each scene tells a story beat, almost like a storyboard
Emotive, simple figures - human characters driven by gesture and mood, not anatomical precision
Warm and whimsical - playful energy with genuine heart; approachable, not corporate
What you'll create
The illustrations will follow Aftershoot's story as a narrative arc - from how it all began, through the growth of our product suite, to where we are today.
This is exactly the format and feel we're going for - illustrated by Kim Smith for Casey Neistat's "Draw My Life" (2015).
How Aftershoot started: The origin story - the problem that sparked it, the early days, the why behind building for photographers
The products, connected: Illustrated scenes showing how Aftershoot's tools fit together - culling, editing, and the new launch - as one cohesive ecosystem for photographers
The new launch- hero visual: A centrepiece illustration for the product launch moment - expressive, memorable, and shareable across formats.
Social & campaign cutdowns: Adapted assets from the core illustrations - sized and cropped for social media, email, and web use. Final files (PNG + layered source) delivered by the end of the day
What we're looking for
Portfolio showing traditional, hand-drawn illustration — pen, ink, and paper work strongly preferred. Please do not apply if your work is primarily digital
Ability to iterate fast - we'll have 1-2 feedback rounds and need finals same day
Available and responsive on 13th- 15th May (tentatively) for the full day, including brief sync calls
