The position

Job description

As a Creative Data Analyst at Animaj, you won’t just analyze data—you’ll take ownership of end-to-end projects that drive impact across the company and you’ll combine data analytics with creative insights to uncover what makes content resonate with audiences.

This is not a traditional data analyst position — you’ll play a key role in shaping creative decisions by analyzing YouTube videos and other content platforms through both a technical and creative lens.

Beyond analytical skills, you’ll need strong project management abilities to design, implement, and automate new processes that empower our teams to make smarter, data-informed content. You’ll be at the intersection of analytics, creativity, process innovation, and operational execution, making your role critical to Animaj’s continued success.

Responsibilities

  1. Creative Content Performance Analysis

    • Watch and analyze YouTube videos to identify key creative elements that drive performance (e.g., structure, pacing, themes, titles, thumbnails).

    • Analyze key performance metrics across platforms like YouTube, Spotify, Apps and much more.

    • Deliver actionable recommendations on themes, topics, and formats to guide creative and production teams.

    • Translate creative patterns into data-backed strategies for improving content quality and performance.

  2. Audience Modelling, Insights and Metadata Optimization

    • Better understand our audience through trending themes, characters, or formats in the kids’ entertainment space. Translate these insights into actionable strategies for our existing and future IPs.

    • Analyze audience behavior by region, and platform to inform content and distribution strategies.

    • Monitor and optimize metadata (thumbnails, tags, titles) to improve discoverability and engagement.

    • Conduct experiments and surveys to refine audience insights.

  3. Data source improvements, Process Automation and Infrastructure

    • Develop and implement automated data collection and preprocessing pipelines to streamline insights delivery.

    • Standardize reporting frameworks to improve efficiency and ensure data consistency across all teams.

    • Explore and integrate new data sources, such as gaming app metrics, website performance, and social media analytics.

  4. Reporting, Communication and Cross-departmental collaboration

    • Create dynamic, visually engaging dashboards and reports on the performance of our assets that deliver clear insights to non-technical teams.

    • Present insights and recommendations to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  5. End-to-End Project Management

    • Own and deliver full-cycle projects: define objectives, design workflows, implement solutions, and measure success.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (Marketing, Creative, Production) to understand their needs and translate them into actionable analytics projects.

    • Ensure successful execution of new processes, including automating repetitive tasks and integrating insights into decision-making.

Preferred experience

  • A curious, proactive and analytical mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking initiative to solve problems.

  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of owning and delivering end-to-end projects.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex insights to non-technical teams.

  • Experience in YouTube content analysis, with an understanding of creative frameworks is a real plus.

  • Understanding of SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation and automation and adaptability to different tools.

  • Understanding of A/B testing and statistical methods.

  • Experience with APIs (e.g., YouTube APIs) and data infrastructure and pipeline frameworks is a plus.
