Line Producer - Episodic 3D IP
Animaj
Line Producer - Episodic 3D IP
The position
Job description
The brand-new role of the Line Producer (LP) is the sole owner of production execution for our episodic 3D digital-first/YouTube-native format IP end-to-end. The LP is accountable for delivering projects on time, on budget, within scope, and at the approved creative and technical quality, across Animaj’s partner ecosystem (outsourced studios, vendors, and any in-house or virtual studio resources).
Responsibilities:
The LP is expected to act autonomously within approved scope and budget, and to escalate early with options and recommendations.
1) SCHEDULE & DELIVERY OWNERSHIP
Translate milestones into realistic end-to-end production schedules from greenlight to final delivery.
Maintain schedule integrity across internal stakeholders and external partners; prevent slippage.
Identify bottlenecks early and implement recovery strategies.
Own delivery readiness (assets, approvals, tech requirements, handoffs) and ensure partners are unblocked.
2) BUDGET OWNERSHIP & FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE
Own budget tracking across ACTUALS, COMMITTED, and FORECAST; maintain decision-ready financial visibility.
Run regular budget health checks and forecast updates with the Production Administrator and Finance.
Escalate any projected variance above agreed thresholds (e.g., >5%) immediately, with root cause, options, and recommendation.
Ensure cost hygiene: correct coding, clear cost rationale, and timely inputs for month-end close (per Finance cadence).
3) SCOPE CONTROL & QUALITY GUARDRAILS
Enforce scope discipline across teams and partners; document change requests, approvals, and impacts.
Maintain approved quality targets; never trade quality down without explicit leadership alignment.
Time-lock key creative stages where applicable and protect the review cadence.
Own delivery acceptance criteria and ensure partners meet technical and creative requirements.
4) RESOURCING & PARTNER MANAGEMENT
Own resource forecasting across partners and any internal / virtual studio capacity; maintain a clear resource plan.
Act as the single operational point of contact for outsourced studios and vendors.
Ensure clarity of deliverables, timelines, and quality expectations; protect Animaj’s reputation through predictable execution.
Coordinate with Legal & Business Affairs for contracts that require rights assignment or special terms (e.g., directors, authors, composers).
5) TAX INCENTIVE / REBATE READINESS
Maintain incentive-ready production data (cost mapping, schedules, resourcing evidence, contracts) for relevant territories (e.g., FR/ES/IN as applicable).
Partner with Production Administrator, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure audit-ready documentation.
Ensure costs are coded correctly and traceable to eligible categories where applicable.
6) REPORTING, DATA HYGIENE & DECISION LOGS
Maintain leadership-level production reporting that is accurate, timely, and consistent across projects.
Document decisions, approvals, and trade-offs (system of record). Slack is for coordination, not record-keeping.
Ensure cross-project visibility where required (weekly sync database / HIPI).
7) TOOLS & WORKFLOW STANDARDS
Adapt execution tools to project needs while ensuring standardized leadership outputs for reporting and finance.
Operate with flexibility at the execution layer and consistency at the leadership layer.
Preferred experience
Proven production ownership in animation and/or kids/family content across one or more formats (Digital First, TV, Feature, Branded).
Experience managing outsourced / overseas partners and vendors with clear deliverable ownership.
Strong schedule, budget, forecasting, and cost-control discipline; comfortable working with Finance and Legal.
Fluent with modern production tooling (Google Workspace, Notion; plus any project tools such as ShotGrid/Flow (must) /MS Office /Google Sheets/Airtable/in-house tool as required).
High standards of documentation and operational rigor; able to operate autonomously and move fast.
