Job Summary

We are seeking a Backend Solutions Engineer with strong expertise in EDI integrations, Django/Python, and a working knowledge of AWS.

This fully remote, Vancouver-based role bridges customer integration and backend engineering support.

You’ll: - Lead onboarding and integration efforts for new customers. - Assist with backend tasks like Django management commands and data backfills. - Collaborate across sales, engineering, and customer success teams to deliver seamless solutions.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on integration work, problem-solving, and direct customer interaction while working closely with a fast-moving engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Integration & Onboarding

• Lead EDI integrations with customer systems, including mapping, configuration, and validation of data exchange workflows.
• Implement API and EDI-based integrations for onboarding new customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in collaboration with client IT teams and BlueCargo engineering.
• Serve as the technical point of contact during onboarding and ensure smooth implementation.
  
  

Backend Engineering Support

• Execute Django management commands for operational tasks like data migrations, syncing, and reporting.
• Assist with data backfills and resolving data inconsistencies within customer integrations.
• Collaborate with engineering to debug backend issues impacting customer workflows.
• Recommend improvements to integration processes and backend pipelines.
  
  

Pre-Sales & Solution Design

• Partner with Account Executives to understand client integration needs and design tailored backend solutions.
• Deliver technical demos showcasing EDI and backend integration capabilities.
• Advise prospects on integration feasibility based on their systems and workflows.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Customer Success Managers to ensure smooth onboarding and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with engineering and product teams to prioritize integration requirements and customer feedback.
• Support upgrades, feature rollouts, and backend enhancements for existing clients.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in backend solution engineering, integration engineering, or similar roles.
• Proven experience with EDI standards (EDIFACT, ANSI X12, etc.) and logistics/supply chain data workflows.
• Solid hands-on experience with Python and Django frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, ECS, etc.) for backend integrations.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, data pipelines, and integration patterns.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience in logistics, freight audit, or supply chain solutions is mandatory.
• Must be based in Vancouver, BC.
