What you’ll do
You will work as part of a dedicated cross-functional, highly leveraged platform team consisting of an engineering manager, product manager, full-stack, and QA engineers.
- As a hands-on fullstack platform engineer, you will set the development direction for the team members and help to implement standards, build shared libraries, and frameworks for our backend and frontend development across Choco
- Work with our backend team to enhance its event-driven microservice architecture inside of the AWS-ecosystem in order to help our web and mobile products give the best experience to its users
- You will support the team in implementing modern and performance optimized backend and frontend solutions in NodeJS and ReactJS based on a distributed architecture
- You will collaborate closely with product engineers and product managers, building scalable services and frameworks, enabling faster, more efficient development
- You will align with different stakeholders and share insights and expertise within and outside of the platform communication team
- You will actively share your knowledge, drive projects, facilitate discussions and promote innovation across the organization
The technology you’ll work with
For backend, we have a cutting-edge environment and use NodeJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS DynamoDB and our infrastructure is powered by AWS SNS, AWS SQS, AWS Lambda, AWS AppSync, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodePipeline and AWS S3.
For frontend, we use use ReactJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, Cypress, Jest, Styled Components, and Micro-frontends.
What we’re looking for
- A senior level fullstack engineer with 4+ years experience in delivering global and scalable solutions with NodeJS and ReactJS
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to share and develop others
- Fluent in modern Javascript, Typescript and keen on trying out new technologies
- Experience working with AWS lambda functions, and testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library.
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline as well as cloud providers while building resilient and scalable infrastructure
- Know-how to write clean code, apply design patterns, and unit testing
- Ability to identify, articulate issues, and drive extensive features and projects spanning across multiple sprints

- Pair Programming interview: during this stage we want to get deeper into your technical knowledge. Next to some technical questions you will work together with another engineer in a pair programming exercise.
- System Design Interview: Together with our lengineers you will do a system design exercise to test your skills (whiteboard session).
- Hiring Manager interview: You will meet your potential manager and discuss the mission, challenges and goals of the team. We would like to see how you collaborate on building the most amazing product for your customers
- Culture interview: You will meet other engineering leaders to discuss about the Choco culture and your non-technical contribution to Choco
