Everlab is an early stage HealthTech startup that recently announced a $15m Seed stage round, building tech-enabled healthcare that improves and extends quality of life using cutting-edge medical research and technology. Our products design and coach our members through personalised risk-management and health-optimisation protocols over months and years to measurably improve lives.

Our founding team is experienced in the Medical industry including the preventative health specialist who founded Australia’s first full-body MRI clinic, to serial entrepreneurs that have scaled unicorns and have $500m+ in exits.

Our Engineering team is Sydney based with 2-3 days a week in office, in the CBD.

About the role

Join us in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Everlab's clinical operations.

You'll be responsible for our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring 99.99%+ uptime for critical healthcare systems.

This role offers the opportunity to architect systems that directly impact patient care and clinical outcomes while navigating the unique challenges of healthcare technology.


Primary Duties

Infrastructure & Automation

• Design and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems on AWS and GCP
• Build infrastructure as code using Pulumi, managing our entire cloud footprint
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitHub to enable rapid, safe deployments
• Automate everything: from infrastructure provisioning to application deployment
• Implement FinOps practices to optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance

Healthcare Reliability & Compliance

Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for our systems.

Ensure compliance with PHI handling, audit trails, and Australian Privacy and Digital Healthcare Regulations

Platform & Security Engineering

Implement zero-trust security architecture and runtime protection

Develop platform services and internal tools in Golang/TypeScript

Drive MLOps initiatives for AI-powered healthcare solutions

Conduct chaos engineering to ensure system resilience

Incident Response & Operations

Lead incident response with healthcare-specific SLOs and patient safety focus

Implement post-mortem processes that prevent recurrence

Build self-healing systems and automated recovery mechanisms

What we are looking for

Required (Must-Have)

4-7 years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles with at least some of that in startup or scale up tech company environments

Expert-level AWS and GCP knowledge

Strong IaC experience with Pulumi/Terraform in production environments

**Languages**: TypeScript, Python, Bash, Go (at least two proficiently)

**Containers**: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP Cloud Run, runtime security (Falco, eBPF)

**CI/CD**: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, policy-as-code

**Monitoring**: APM tools (such as Datadog), graphana, Elasticsearch/Kibana or similar

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

Proven track record in regulated industries (healthcare strongly preferred)

IAM automation

Experience with NX (nx.dev)

Any kind of security background would be a plus
