Accountant

Everlab is pioneering the next era of healthcare proactive, personalised, and, most importantly, accessible to all.

We usually respond within a week

About the role:

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health and integrity of Everlab, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency across our finance function. You will work closely with leadership to provide insights that support strategic decision-making as we scale. This role combines technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for building robust financial systems in a fast-growing healthcare company.

This is a full-time role, with 3 days per week in-office for team members located near our Sydney or Melbourne offices. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building and improving financial processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities and scope:

  • Financial reporting and compliance: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Accounts management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Budgeting and forecasting: Support leadership with financial planning, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting to inform strategic decisions.

Systems and process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and implement scalable processes as Everlab grows.

What we are looking for:

  • Availability: Full-time with 3 in-office days in our Sydney or Melbourne offices.

  • Qualified and experienced: CA or CPA qualified (or working towards), with 4+ years of experience in accounting roles. Experience in a high-growth startup or healthcare environment is a plus.

Tech-savvy and process-minded: You're comfortable working with accounting software (specifically Xero) and digital tools (e.g. DEXT, Airwallex), with a keen eye for accuracy and process efficiency. Experience with financial modelling and reporting tools is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented with a big-picture mindset: You sweat the small stuff but also understand how financial data connects to broader business strategy and decision-making.

  • Incredible teammate: You communicate with kindness and enjoy the growth that comes from giving and receiving direct and honest feedback. You acknowledge your mistakes, know when to "disagree and commit" and care more about the team being successful than you being right. You also recognise when to ask questions and help with the wider team.

  • Ownership mindset with strong autonomy: You are motivated by what's best for Everlab long term, and you're confident in making sound decisions independently. You thrive in an autonomous environment, taking full responsibility for outcomes while being proactive in learning and improving. Whether it's closing the books, improving a process, or supporting an audit, you understand that excellence means caring about the details, acting with initiative, and always raising the bar.

  • (Nice to have) Healthcare or startup experience: You have experience working in healthcare, high-growth startups, or investor-backed companies, with familiarity in areas like revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, or multi-entity accounting.

About Everlab

Everlab is on a mission to build the future of preventive health — empowering people to take control of their wellbeing before problems arise.

Everlab is an early stage HealthTech startup that recently announced a $15m Seed stage round, building tech-enabled healthcare that improves and extends quality of life using cutting-edge medical research and technology. Our products design and coach our members through personalised risk-management and health-optimisation protocols over months and years to measurably improve lives.

Our founding team is experienced in the Medical industry including the preventative health specialist who founded Australia’s first full-body MRI clinic, to serial entrepreneurs that have scaled unicorns and have $500m+ in exits.

Our mission is to solve high-impact problems in healthcare that have never been tackled before, which isn’t easy. We look for people that are excited by this mission and the challenges they bring as our team is driven to solve these problems together.

Our team is hybrid with 2-3 days a week in office, within the CBD of the job's posted location.
