About FanBasis
FanBasis is the full-stack growth platform for digital businesses. Whether someone is just getting started with their own business or looking to make their next million dollars, we give them the infrastructure to do it: payments, checkout funnels, community, courses, affiliate systems, analytics, and everything in between, all in one platform.
We're one of the fastest-growing future of work companies based in Miami and have had billions in volume flow through our platform. The team moves quickly, ships constantly, and is obsessed with helping people earn from what they already know. If you want to be part of building something that makes the entire market more accessible, this is the place.
We're hiring one person to own AI at FanBasis end-to-end — set the strategy, build the systems, and ultimately scale the function into a department.
The Mandate
You are the founding leader of AI at FanBasis and the single point of accountability for the function. You set the strategy. You build the first systems with your own hands. You scale the team behind you as wins compound.
You will embed yourself with every department — risk, compliance, finance, ops, customer support, sales, marketing, engineering — identify where humans are doing work that machines should be doing, and build the systems to fix it. End to end. You scope it, you build it, you ship it, you measure it, you maintain it.
This is a strategy role and an execution role. We are not interested in someone who only does one. The expectation is that you can sit in a CEO-level conversation about where AI takes the business over the next 24 months, and walk out of that meeting and ship the first production system yourself the same week.
You will personally architect and deploy AI agents, automations, internal copilots, classifiers, scoring systems, voice and email agents, document parsers, decisioning engines, and whatever else the problem demands. You will write code. You will integrate APIs. You will own production systems. As the function proves its leverage, you will hire and lead a team to multiply it.
Once every department is supercharged, your focus shifts to growth, using AI to compound our outbound, retention, monetization, and product velocity in ways the market isn't doing yet.
What You'll Actually Do
First 90 days
- Sit down with every department head. Document every manual workflow, every repetitive decision, every place humans are operating as glue between systems.
- Build a ranked backlog of automation opportunities scored by ROI, defensibility, and time-to-ship.
- Ship the first 3-5 high-leverage automations. We want wins on the board fast.
First 6 months
- Eliminate or compress the highest-cost manual workflows across risk, support, finance, and ops.
- Deploy internal AI agents and copilots that make every team materially faster.
- Build proprietary risk and underwriting models that improve our processor and bank posture.
- Stand up an evaluation and observability layer so we know what's working and what's drifting.
Ongoing
- Continuously audit every department for new automation surface area.
- Turn the AI infrastructure into a growth weapon: smarter outbound, retention systems, dynamic pricing, fraud containment, creator success automation.
- Build moat. The goal is for competitors to wonder how we run this lean and ship this fast.
Examples of Systems You'll Build
These are illustrative — the real list comes from your discovery work.
- AI-driven seller risk scoring that ingests behavior, payment patterns, dispute history, and content signals to predict chargebacks and fraud before they hit
- Automated dispute representment engine that compiles evidence packages and drafts processor-ready rebuttals
- Internal copilots for support agents, RDAs, and underwriters trained on our SOPs and historical decisions
- Document parsing and KYB pipelines that compress merchant onboarding from days to minutes
- Voice and email agents that handle a meaningful share of inbound seller communication
- Outbound systems that personalize at scale and feed qualified pipeline to sales
- Financial close, reconciliation, and anomaly detection automations that reduce dependence on manual ops
What Success Looks Like (Year 1 KPIs)
- Documented reduction in manual labor hours across at least 5 departments
- Measurable improvement in chargeback rate, fraud loss, or underwriting precision attributable to AI systems you built
- At least 3 production-grade AI systems live and generating measurable ROI
- Sales, support, and ops cycle times materially compressed
- A working evaluation and observability stack — you can prove what's working and what isn't
- Your work is visibly compounding. Every quarter you ship more leverage than the last.
Who You Are
- You have actually built and shipped production AI systems. Not slide decks. Not pilots. Real systems that real businesses depend on.
- You are equally comfortable in code, in a P&L conversation, and in a customer support queue. You will spend time in all three.
- You think in systems, leverage, and ROI. You can tell the difference between an automation that saves real money and one that just looks impressive.
- You move fast and ship. You'd rather have a working v1 in production in two weeks than a perfect v3 spec in six months.
- You understand that AI in a regulated, payments-adjacent business has constraints. You don't blow up the processor relationship to score a demo.
- You can sit with a non-technical department head, understand their workflow, and translate it into a system without making them feel stupid.
- You are a hands-on operator with executive judgment. You can own a board-level conversation and ship the code in the same week.
You Are Probably Not the Right Fit If
- You can't or won't personally ship for the first 9-12 months while the function is being built
- Your background is mostly research, consulting, or "AI strategy" with no production track record
- You haven't shipped production systems in the last 18 months
- You want to work remotely
- You're motivated primarily by titles, headcount, or theoretical scope rather than impact
- You think "AI transformation" is a roadmap exercise
- You need an existing team and infrastructure handed to you to be effective
Compensation
Highly competitive base salary and meaningful equity. Comp is calibrated to bring in a top-tier operator. We pay for impact, and the right candidate will see this as one of the most leveraged AI roles outside of a frontier lab.
Why This Role
Most AI roles right now are at companies still figuring out what AI is supposed to do for them. This isn't that.
You are joining one of the fastest-growing companies in the world at the moment AI gets pointed at every dollar that flows through it. A CEO and leadership team who will give you the runway, the authority, and the air cover to ship aggressively.
You will not be slow-walked by committees. You will not be told to "align with stakeholders" for three quarters before shipping. Every department head knows you're coming and is expected to give you full access. You will own AI strategy at the executive level, and you will personally build the systems that prove the strategy.
This is the rare role where one operator can compound the output of an entire company — and then build the team that compounds it further. Outside of a frontier lab, there are very few seats with this much leverage available right now.
