About you
We are looking for an International Commercial Director who is responsible for defining and executing the company’s global commercial strategy, ensuring revenue growth and fostering strong relationships with partners. This role involves overseeing commercial teams across different regions, securing high-value sponsorships, and collaborating with key stakeholders to expand the organization’s market presence.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy encompassing both traditional sponsorships and performance-based digital monetization (CPM, CPA, CPS, etc.).
- Identify, negotiate, and secure cross-border sponsorships and digital advertising partnerships with brands, agencies, ad networks, and DSPs.
- Lead the end-to sales process for branded content, traffic monetization, and digital inventory across all platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and media buyers to ensure long-term loyalty and value creation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content, media, data) to design and execute monetization strategies that align with business goals.
- Analyse commercial performance using key metrics to optimize pricing, inventory yield, and partnership ROI.
- Manage and scale a high-performing commercial team focused on both alliance-building and digital revenue hunting.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in sports media, digital advertising, and sponsorship innovation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in commercial roles with a proven track record in both sponsorship sales and digital media monetization.
- Strong background in negotiating and managing complex international deals across European and non-European markets.
- Deep understanding of performance-based advertising models (CPM, CPC, CPA, CPS) and experience selling digital inventory.
- Excellent network within the sports, media, and adtech industries.
- A hunter mentality: proactive, entrepreneurial, and driven to close deals in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative, goal-oriented culture.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Based ideally in London with flexibility for international travel.
