Role and Responsibilities

As Head of Talent, you will play a critical role on the Left Lane Operations team and be responsible for leading our efforts to support our portfolio companies on talent matters. This includes supporting founders through their organization design and recruitment processes, evaluating founders from a leadership perspective ahead of potential investments, and building a strong bench of talent for Left Lane companies. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues across both the investment and operations teams to support our companies’ growth.

As a key part of firm leadership, the Head of Talent will:

  • Build the hub of talent expertise at Left Lane, dedicated to helping companies with best practices, sourcing, assessing, and onboarding executive talent capable of leading the next generation of high-growth internet and consumer companies.
  • Become a trusted advisor to portfolio companies around organizational design and development. Partner with their talent acquisition teams to build systemic and scalable recruiting programs to create a sustainable pipeline of talent.
  • Develop data-driven frameworks for evaluating organization maturity, identify further growth opportunities, and measure readiness for potential investments to scale.
  • In coordination with the Platform team, develop a bench of relationships with search firms and other sources of executive talent to better advise portfolio companies and investment teams on which firm or resource to use for each situation.
  • Source and connect great talent. Build relationships with C-level leaders and focus particularly on working with our breakout internet and consumer investments.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of talent experience at search firms or investment firms
  • Be a trusted advisor to CEOs/Founders on people matters
  • Have a robust talent network to help source and benchmark executive level candidates
  • Have strong knowledge of organization scaling, building and scaling culture, compensation philosophy
  • Clear and concise communication skills
