Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Build and own the collections strategy across pre-arrears, early arrears, late arrears, and recoveries, covering all credit products.

  • Set up tooling and platforms by selecting and implementing collections technology, workflow engines, and AI-driven engagement tools.

  • Use analytics and AI to improve decisioning, segmentation, repayment plans, and identification of customer vulnerability.

  • Lead operations directly in the early stages, then recruit and manage a high-performing team across operations and vendor management.

  • Own collections and recoveries quality assurance and controls, ensuring compliance with FCA Consumer Duty, Treating Customers Fairly, and vulnerability frameworks.

  • Work with product and design to create collections journeys that are seamless and customer-focused.

  • Represent collections at senior level, presenting performance, risks, and outcomes to leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Build and manage relationships with debt collection agencies, debt purchasers, and other external partners.

Requirements:

  • You have significant experience in collections and recoveries within consumer lending.
  • You have built or transformed a collections function and are comfortable being the first hire to set it up.
  • You are hands-on with data and analytics and are comfortable interpreting and digging into data to find the why.
  • You are curious about how AI can improve collections performance and customer outcomes.
  • You have a strong understanding of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • You are comfortable engaging with external partners such as DCAs and debt purchasers.
  • You are excited by the opportunity to build and grow a team as the business scales.
