LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South.

Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live.

What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.

With over 2 million users across the globe, we process over $1.5B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

The Role

You will be the engine behind LemFi’s global legal and regulatory strategy. Your primary focus will be providing high-impact legal counsel across Europe and African markets, ensuring the company operates safely, compliantly, and confidently as we scale.

You won’t just review contracts—you will shape legal frameworks, guide complex cross-border matters, influence strategic decisions, and safeguard privacy and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

How You'll Contribute

  • Advise & Guide: Offer expert legal advice on FinTech operations, privacy laws, corporate matters, and international regulations, supporting key stakeholders across the business.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and implement compliance with legal developments across African countries, GDPR, and other global privacy regulations.

  • Strengthen Privacy & Data Protection: Develop and enforce strategies to support data protection, cross-border transfers, consent mechanisms, and GDPR compliance.

  • Draft & Negotiate Contracts: Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and commercial arrangements, ensuring alignment with local laws.

  • Support Complex Transactions: Assist in structuring and executing international transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, accounting for cross-border implications.

  • Identify & Mitigate Risks: Provide proactive risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and legal insights to support business decisions.

  • Manage Disputes: Oversee litigation strategy, external counsel coordination, and dispute resolution across relevant markets.

  • Collaborate Across Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams, external counsel, regulatory bodies, and associations to provide end-to-end legal support for the business.

Who You Are

  • Experienced & Strategic: You bring deep legal expertise and thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment, navigating complexity with confidence.

  • Detail-Oriented: You excel at identifying risks, interpreting laws across jurisdictions, and delivering clear, pragmatic recommendations.

  • Cross-Functional Partner: You communicate effectively with teams across Product, Compliance, Operations, and leadership.

  • Analytical & Solution-Driven: You approach legal challenges with structured thinking and a commitment to practical outcomes.

  • Proactive & Independent: You take initiative, balancing autonomy with collaboration, and staying resourceful in ambiguous situations.

What You'll Bring

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution.

  • At least 5 years of legal experience, with strong exposure to FinTech, and international corporate matters.

  • Proven experience supporting international corporations, especially in tech or FinTech environments.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

  2. Behaviours & Culture Interview (60 mins)
