Job Summary:

The role of the Accountant, Nigeria, is a fully remote position within Lemonade Finance’s Finance team. In this role, you should have a demonstrated knowledge of Accounting and IFRS best practices with, at minimum, 2 years relevant experience in the finance industry.

Responsibilities are as follows:
● Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
● Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statement.
● Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
● Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
● Manage tax filings and ensure timely submission of required tax documents.
● Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
● Provide support for special projects and initiatives as required

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or any related discipline.

● Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN or progress towards certification will be an added advantage.

● Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an accounting role at a FinTech or financial institution.

● Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

● Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting

● Understanding of the local and global financial services industry.
