About the Role

The role of the Trainer/ Instructor assumes overall responsibility include coordinating and executing training with all staff on an ongoing basis, with a particular focus on integrating and maintaining partner mandated safety and compliance standards. They will be responsible for Waymo’s TTT program implementation and ongoing management. A key contributor to the team, you will work closely with the Safety & Compliance lead and central support functions to ensure that timely training is provided to all the staff as and when necessary and that the city operation is effective and efficient.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Coordinate and deliver ongoing staff training with a strong emphasis on partner-mandated safety and compliance standards.

  • Implement and manage Waymo’s Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with the Safety & Compliance lead and central support teams to align training initiatives with operational goals.

  • Regularly evaluate and improve training programs to ensure their effectiveness and relevance to operational needs.

  • Maintain operational efficiency by addressing training gaps and ensuring all staff are prepared to meet safety and performance expectations.

  • Act as a key contributor to the city operation's success by fostering a well-trained, compliant, and high-performing workforce.

What You will need for this position

  • Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a degree, an additional 4+ years of work experience with training in AV or other Fleet Management.

  • ADT certification or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in developing and managing training programs that align with organizational goals and standards.

  • Strong ability to deliver effective training with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with leadership, support teams, and staff.

  • Analytical skills to evaluate training effectiveness, address gaps, and implement continuous improvements.

  • Adaptability to manage dynamic priorities and ensure training meets evolving business and operational needs.

  • Leadership and organizational skills to support a well-trained and high-performing workforce.

  • Availability and willingness to work outside of normal office hours

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present at all levels within the organisation

  • Outstanding organisational skills with a track record of managing organisational systems

  • Growth oriented with a proven track record of scaling up products and new geographies

  • The ability to work autonomously in a decentralised organisation

  • Right to work in the United States of America.
