About Pearl
Pearl is shaping the future of dentistry with a suite of AI solutions developed to establish higher standards of quality and care for patients worldwide. Since 2019, our team has engineered FDA-cleared computer vision capabilities for the interpretation of 2D and 3D dental imagery — industry-leading capabilities which clinicians, practice owners, labs, and insurers use to elevate the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of dental care around the world.
The Role
We're seeking a Part-Time Insurance Verification Associate with deep expertise in dental insurance plans and payer systems. You'll serve as the subject matter expert who identifies gaps in how our platform handles insurance verification, documents those gaps clearly, and works cross-functionally with engineering, product, sales, and customer success to drive fixes and validate their accuracy.
This is a high-impact, highly collaborative role — you won't just flag issues, you'll own them through to resolution.
What You'll Do
Audit Pearl's insurance verification workflows and data for accuracy and completeness across plan types (PPO, Individual, DHMO, Medicare, Medicaid, FEP/FEDVIP, MediCal, and others)
Document gaps clearly — including what's wrong, why it matters, and what the correct behavior should be — in formats that engineering and product can act on
Partner with engineering to drive resolution of identified gaps, providing context and clarification throughout the fix cycle
Validate that fixes are accurate once implemented, and flag regressions
Serve as the go-to resource for payer-specific login requirements, eligibility rules, and verification workflows for top dental payers
Support sales and customer success with accurate, up-to-date information on plan and payer coverage as needed
What You'll Need to Succeed
Deep, hands-on knowledge of dental insurance verification across PPO, Individual, DHMO, Medicare, Medicaid, FEDVIP, and MediCal plans, including login and portal requirements for major payers (Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Concordia, Guardian, Humana, and others)
Prior experience with dental software platforms or DSOs, and familiarity with how verification is handled in practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Denticon, Eaglesoft, Open Dental)
Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex insurance rules into crisp, actionable documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
Drives issues to closure by partnering closely with engineering and product, managing multiple concurrent workstreams independently in a fully remote, async-friendly environment
Comfortable working cross-functionally across product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams
Nice to Have
Prior experience writing documentation or requirements for technical teams
