About Us

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience across our domestic and global clinics, have allowed us to lead the change against “we caught it too late again".

We are looking for a Team Lead, Senior Applied Scientist to lead a pod within our AI Research org. This is a senior technical leadership role: you will own a research roadmap, manage and grow a team of research scientists, and drive model development from ideation through production. You will work at the intersection of deep learning, medical imaging, and clinical translation, and you will be accountable for both the quality of the science and the delivery of the work.

This hybrid role is based in Vancouver. We expect you to be technically credible enough to review model architectures, challenge assumptions, and roll up your sleeves when it matters. We also expect you to build a team environment where people do their best work.

Help reshape the world through proactive healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology and high performing teams with deep expertise - join us to make a difference in people’s lives!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team in the end-to-end development and deployment of multi-modal AI models (medical imaging/CV + LLM/text processing).
  • Set the technical roadmap, own the research lifecycle, and contribute to the broader AI org strategy.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow research scientists while maintaining rigorous scientific and QC standards.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration (ML engineering, clinical ops, product) to translate research into deployed models.
  • Represent the team externally via conferences, publications, and research partnerships.

What You’ll Bring

Technical depth

  • MSc/PhD or equivalent in CS, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong publication record or applied research output in multi-modal AI, deep learning, computer vision, or LLM/NLP.
  • Hands-on proficiency in PyTorch or equivalent; capable of writing/reviewing production-quality research code.
  • Proven experience developing and validating multi-modal models combining 3D medical imaging data (MRI, CT) with LLMs and text processing.
  • Familiarity with clinical translation requirements, including regulatory considerations for AI/ML medical devices.

Leadership and delivery

  • Proven 5+ years of experience leading research or applied ML teams, with a track record of growing people and driving projects from prototype to validated, production-deployed model.
  • Exceptional EQ and superior collaboration skills, evidenced by fostering a supportive team environment and successfully partnering with cross-functional teams (ML Engineering, Product, Clinical Ops).
  • Strong operational instincts to structure roadmaps, identify blockers, and maintain project momentum.
  • High standards for scientific rigor, balanced with the ability to maintain delivery speed.
  • Outstanding executive communication skills, able to clearly and persuasively articulate technical strategy, progress, and risks to senior leadership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in body composition, vascular imaging, organ segmentation, or lesion detection.
  • Familiarity with FDA 510(k) submission processes or predicate-based regulatory pathways.
  • Publications in top journals and conferences such ASL, NIPS, MICCAI, ICML, etc.
  • Experience with interpretable AI and SOTA AI methods.
  • Prior work in a health tech or clinical AI environment.
