About WeTravel

Travel gives people new experiences and brings them together, sometimes in life-changing ways. That’s especially the case for group travel and multi-day travel where the participants get to really immerse themselves. Passionate travel organizers make this magic happen and WeTravel is here to support those travel organizers. We help them publish their trip offerings, take bookings, process payments around the world, pay suppliers/vendors, and digitize their operations. This helps travel organizers get more bookings, save time, and save money.

About the role

Join WeTravel as our Product Marketing Manager (PMM), who is an energetic advocate for our customers and an expert in bringing our innovations to the market. We describe our PMM work as outbound (70-80% of the focus today) and inbound (20-30%). Inbound is about informing what features to build by listening to our customers’ sentiment and needs. Outbound is about bringing those features to our customers with the right positioning and communication to drive maximum adoption.

This is a uniquely-impactful role with a company-wide visibility and a large scope (overseeing 10-20 feature launches per quarter of varying sizes covering all 4 of our product teams). In this role, the PMM will report to the VP of Product and have regular interactions with the company leadership. The PMM will partner with talented and passionate colleagues around the company – every product manager, the heads of several frontline functions (e.g. Sales, Account Management, Customer Support, and PR), and even our product videographer.

Most importantly, the PMM will help our customers (group and multi-day travel organizers) improve their businesses by ensuring we build the right features and helping customers adopt those features. If you’ve ever wanted to empower small businesses with innovative tech and work in a fun and inclusive company, this is it. Let’s make an amazing impact together!

Key Responsibilities

Outbound: Take new features to the market and drive maximum adoption & impact
  • Define the feature launch plan early in the PRD stage (not after implementation) with the right positioning and adoption target, in partnership with the product managers. The key is answering “how would we tell our customers about this new feature, if we built it, to drive maximum adoption” early.
  • Plan how to use different communication channels to achieve that adoption target – email, feature video, in-product messaging, owned media, earned media, sales enablement, account management touchpoints, customer service FAQ, etc.
  • Craft right messaging for each channel and feature, and collaborate with our dedicated videographer (who is also a part of the product team) when a feature intro video is needed.
  • Rigorously project manage preparation of the above communication channels and deploy them.
  • Monitor adoption (in partnership with the product manager) and qualitative feedback.

Inbound: Inform what innovations will help our travel organizers
  • Conduct periodic sentiment surveys, analyze them, and share insights within the product team and around the company in the most actionable way.
  • Listen to customer feature requests (through frontline teams who submit them internally) and work with the VP of Product to prioritize them.
  • Set up an innovation council of organizers to make insight gathering easier.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate would bring:
  • Product sense (which feature would help which travel organizer and why) and positioning sense (how to market that value to that organizer)
  • Expert written communication skills in English (required) and Spanish (bonus) with extreme clarity, a storytelling touch, and the judgment to use the right tone for each situation
  • Project management and collaboration skills and the infectious energy to drive right actions from the frontline teams and ultimately our customers
  • Deep understanding of travel organizers (their needs and how they like to receive information about our features) and frontline teams of SMB-facing tech companies (how sales reps, account managers, customer support agents, and other functions work with our customers and the media)
  • Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude to figure out how to accomplish the product marketing mission in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Rigor, attention to detail, and discipline to operate a smooth and predictable processes as well as the critical thinking to know when and how to evolve those processes
  • Hunger to learn everything there is to learn about our product and our teams
  • Bias for action and simplification as well as a positive mindset

Other requirements:
  • Several years of “above-the-target” track record of helping small businesses adopt SaaS and/or Payment solutions (as a marketer, account manager, or in other customer or media-facing roles)
  • “Be the solution” is one of our company values. Our PMM should exhibit proactiveness in identifying opportunities and bias-for-action in solving it.
  • No ego; the best idea wins
    • WeTravel is a company with a 4.6 star Glassdoor rating where the CEO empties the dishwasher. We don’t compromise on our values and culture

Compensation and Benefits
