Engineering & Product

Hi! 👋 I'm Fedir, Engineering Manager for the Team Supply at WeTravel.

I joined WeTravel to help build the future of group travel, starting with how we connect organizers and suppliers at scale. Our team is leading WeTravel’s evolution from a transactional product into a connected supplier network, a shift that will power our next phase of growth.

We’re still a small but mighty team: one frontend engineer, one backend engineer, one full-stack engineer, and an automation QA. We’re now seeking another senior product engineer to help us evolve into a comprehensive, high-performing, and cross-functional unit.

This role isn’t about tickets and features, it’s about product ownership and engineering leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with product and design, shape architecture, run discovery with real users, and lead critical projects from idea to production. Recent initiatives include launching the Supplier Hub (our first discovery tool to connect verified suppliers with organizers), building network-aware coordination features like Rooming Lists, and scaling our payment infrastructure.

WeTravel is becoming the operating system for the multi-day travel industry, used by organizers everywhere from Patagonia to Bali to manage trips, collect payments, book vendors, and now, build trusted supplier relationships.

We’re solving meaningful challenges: designing fault-tolerant systems for cross-border payments, building intuitive UX for complex workflows, and architecting the foundation for platform network effects. If you're excited by ownership, impact, and joining a team that values speed, curiosity, and technical depth, we’d love to talk.

How We Work

At WeTravel, our Team Supply combines high product ownership with full-stack engineering excellence. As a Sr. Product Engineer, you'll be a product engineer building systems end-to-end - from participating in customer interviews to monitoring production systems.

We believe in cross-functional collaboration where engineers are involved from the very beginning of the product lifecycle. You'll work closely with product teams, participate in design discussions, and help shape solutions based on real user problems and technical constraints. Our full-stack approach means you'll contribute across frontend (TypeScript/React) and backend (Ruby on Rails) as needed for each feature.

We value engineers who think in systems, care about long-term scalability, and take full ownership of the solutions they build. This means more than just writing code; it’s about ensuring the things you ship are reliable, maintainable, and impactful in production.

Our team works with a high degree of autonomy and shared responsibility. We don’t see speed and quality as a trade-off. Instead, we look for engineers who embed quality into their work, using smart patterns, thoughtful reviews, and effective tooling to move quickly without compromising quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive features end-to-end: from user interviews and product design to deployment and monitoring in production.

  • Write high-quality, maintainable code across both frontend (TypeScript/React) and backend (Ruby on Rails).

  • Lead technical decomposition and architecture decisions for complex features.

  • Collaborate with product teams to shape solutions based on user needs and technical constraints.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and production support responsibilities.

  • Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering excellence across the team.

You should apply if you:

  • Have 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong product ownership mindset

  • Are proficient in TypeScript and React for frontend development

  • Have backend experience with Ruby on Rails, or proficiency in Python/Go/.NET with ability to learn Ruby

  • Have experience building distributed systems with microservices and event-driven architecture

  • Demonstrate strong systems thinking and can design for scalability

  • Have experience with production systems, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities

  • Have excellent communication skills and experience working in multicultural, distributed teams

  • Take a pragmatic approach to using AI tools to improve productivity

  • Have experience leading projects and mentoring other engineers

You might not be the right fit if you:

  • Prefer to work in isolation rather than collaborating closely with product teams

  • Are uncomfortable with end-to-end responsibility from conception to production monitoring

  • Don't enjoy learning new technologies or adapting to different tech stacks

  • Are not interested in understanding user problems and business context

  • Prefer purely technical roles without product ownership responsibilities

  • Are uncomfortable with the ambiguity that comes with building new products in a growing team

Why join us?

  • Make real impact: you’ll help build the operating system for the multi-day group travel industry, empowering thousands of organizers and millions of travelers worldwide.

  • Solve meaningful technical challenges at scale, from designing robust systems to improving real-time user experiences in a complex domain.

  • Be part of building the best engineering team: you’ll help shape culture, mentor others, and contribute to high standards of excellence and collaboration.

  • Enjoy flexibility and balance, with competitive compensation, generous PTO, remote-friendly work culture, and annual company offsites (our last one was in Italy 🌊).
