About LOVB (League One Volleyball):

League One Volleyball (LOVB, pronounced “love”) is reimagining the sport of volleyball, and is the only professional league that has a youth-to-pro ecosystem. We believe in the power of sport to create better life outcomes for those who play it.

Launched in 2019, LOVB today has the largest youth volleyball community in the U.S., with over 14,000 youth athletes across twenty-six states. LOVB is launching its pro league in January 2025 from the grassroots up, built from its foundation of junior volleyball clubs and led by the world’s best professional players. The idea behind LOVB is championing athletes through their entire volleyball journey, from getting introduced to the sport and developing as youth players, to supporting their recruitment to college programs, to creating pathways for athletes to play professional volleyball here in the United States.

It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball, with record audiences viewing the college game, volleyball the #1 most played girls' U.S. youth team sport, and 38M current and former players across the country today. Through LOVB, we are focused on driving both participation in the sport and its fandom, while actively supporting youth and professional players. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women’s sport.

The Role:

We are looking to hire a Boys Volleyball Director for LOVB Austin Junior Volleyball, one of the largest and most respected volleyball clubs in the Lone Star Region. This is a national search for a director who will lead and grow its high-performing boys program. We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader who can continue to elevate our boys program, and contribute to our mission of developing well-rounded, high-character athletes through the sport of volleyball.

With a strong track record of producing collegiate and professional talent, AJV Boys has become a recognized pipeline for elite-level athletes—including recent standouts Nathan Lietzke (Stanford / Chaumont VB 52) and Merrick McHenry (UCLA / Nice VB). The club offers a highly supportive environment for both athletes and staff, and shares its training facility with the 2024 LOVB Champions, LOVB Austin.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the AJV Boys program, from grassroots to elite national teams
• Serve as a liaison with college coaches and athletes for athlete recruitment
• Recruit, develop, and manage coaching staff
• Create training curriculum and seasonal plans
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience coaching at the club, collegiate, or national level
• Proven leadership and program development skills
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
