It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media. LOVB is capturing this opportunity by creating a strong club business, and from that built-in audience and fandom, is creating the best Pro League in the world and a digital ecosystem that will connect all aspects of LOVB. Job Summary The Manager, Fan Engagement & Insights will serve as LOVB’s expert in understanding who our fans are, what drives their passion, and how to deepen their connection to the league and its teams. This role combines analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and creative storytelling to translate fan data into actionable insights. By uncovering what motivates fandom and loyalty, this position will guide how LOVB attracts, engages, and retains fans—driving measurable audience, engagement, and revenue growth across all platforms. The Manager will partner cross-functionally with marketing, media, commercial, and merchandise teams to activate insights that shape brand strategy, content, ticketing, and fan experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fan Insights, Analysis & Growth Strategy (Primary Focus): - Analyze fan data across channels (Stellar, CRM, digital, social, ticketing, and broadcast) to identify key engagement drivers and growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain fan personas, segmentation models, and behavioral frameworks to guide marketing and content strategies.
- Build lifetime customer value (LCV) models to measure engagement, retention, and monetization potential.
- Evaluate campaigns and content performance to connect engagement metrics with ticketing, merchandise, and digital revenue outcomes.
- Create and present fan insights reports that translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership and teams.
- Identify emerging trends and untapped audiences to inform expansion, media strategy, and community programming.
- Collaborate with Media, Commercial, and Merchandise teams to apply insights across acquisition, retention, and experience initiatives.
Growth Measurement & Performance Optimization: - Define and track fan engagement KPIs across league and team markets.
- Conduct funnel analyses to understand the fan journey from awareness to loyalty.
- Develop testing frameworks to assess the impact of creative and engagement tactics.
- Benchmark LOVB’s fan engagement and LCV performance against other sports and entertainment properties.
Data Integration & Enablement: - Partner with data and engineering teams to ensure accurate fan data collection and integration across touchpoints.
- Oversee the organization, governance, and accessibility of fan data for cross-departmental use.
- Support segmentation and tagging strategies for insight-driven marketing activation.
- Translate data into compelling narratives and business recommendations.
Collaboration & Leadership: - Present insights clearly and effectively to executive and creative stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Pro Team markets to apply insights that grow local fan engagement and community connection.
- Partner with agencies and vendors to enhance data and analytics capabilities.
- Serve as a thought partner in how LOVB measures and strengthens fan relationships across all platforms.
Required Skills/Abilities - 8+ years of experience in audience analytics, fan insights, or consumer strategy, ideally within sports, entertainment, or media preferred.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive measurable growth.
- Analytical fluency with tools such as Stellar, Tableau, Looker, or Google Analytics; familiarity with SQL or data warehouse environments preferred.
- Experience with audience segmentation, behavioral modeling, and lifetime value analysis.
- Deep understanding of fan behavior, engagement, and community-building dynamics.
- Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and creative audiences.
Education and Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in audience strategy, analytics, or marketing insights preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements (Remote) - Ability to operate a computer and communicate effectively via video, phone, and digital tools.
- Willingness to travel for events, site visits, and team meetings as needed.
- Preference for candidates based in LOVB Pro markets.
