But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media. Job Summary: LOVB is seeking a Manager of Total Rewards to lead our compensation strategy and ensure we offer a competitive, equitable, and scalable rewards program as we grow. This role is both strategic and hands-on, supporting how we attract, retain, and motivate talent across all levels. As the internal expert on compensation, you will manage company-wide job leveling and benchmarking, drive our biannual compensation and bonus review processes, and shape our long-term incentive programs. You will partner with the executive team, People Success leaders, and Finance to ensure alignment with LOVB's mission, growth goals, and evolving workforce needs. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and is passionate about applying data, structure, and creativity to compensation design. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Compensation Strategy & Execution - Lead the development and execution of LOVB's compensation philosophy, structures, and processes across all business units.
- Design and manage market benchmarking processes, salary structures, and compensation bands; ensure competitive, consistent, and equitable practices.
- Own and drive LOVB's biannual compensation review cycles, including promotions, merit adjustments, and bonuses.
- Develop and maintain LOVB's job leveling architecture in partnership with People and department leaders.
Long-Term Incentives & Executive Comp - Design and administer LTIP programs, including equity and stock-based compensation for leadership and critical roles.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, CFO, and People leadership on executive and board-level comp design.
- Collaborate with legal and finance on equity modeling, vesting schedules, 409A valuations, and compliance.
Benefits Strategy & Administration - Oversee LOVB’s health, wellness, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs to ensure they are competitive, compliant, and values-aligned.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to assess plan options, manage renewals, and optimize offerings for employees and the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) and support accurate plan administration.
- Analyze usage trends and employee feedback to inform program enhancements and improve the overall employee experience.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders on benefits topics and decision-making.
- Collaborate with People Success and Communications to develop education that drives understanding and engagement.
Data, Analytics & Dashboards - Build dashboards and reporting tools to track compensation trends, pay equity, and incentive outcomes.
- Analyze internal and external data to support business cases for compensation-related decisions.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure total rewards program effectiveness and ROI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with Finance to forecast, model, and align compensation strategies with budgetary planning.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure offers are competitive and aligned to LOVB levels and structure.
- Act as a trusted resource to department leaders on comp strategy and guidance.
Required & Preferred Skills/Abilities: - Deep knowledge of compensation frameworks, market pricing, and total rewards design
- Proven experience designing and implementing LTIPs and stock-based compensation programs
- Familiarity with 409A valuations, equity modeling, and related compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience shaping benefits strategy and overseeing end-to-end plan design and vendor partnerships
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to benefits (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA)
- Strong analytical and Excel/data modeling skills; proficiency in tools like Google Sheets, Looker, or Tableau a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex compensation topics to varied audiences
- Experience partnering with C-level executives and presenting to the board
- High level of discretion and judgment in handling confidential compensation data
- Bonus: Experience in startups, sports, or high-growth environments
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, HR, or related field; CCP certification a plus
- 5+ years of progressive compensation experience, including executive and equity compensation
- Prior experience managing a compensation function or leading complex org-wide comp programs
