Job Overview
Moove AV is seeking a highly technical and strategic Senior Technical Trainer to lead the technical development and safety oversight of our technician fleet. This role is responsible for the end-to-end training and certification of staff across five specialized levels (AV Tech 1 through AV Tech 4).
You will be the primary architect of Moove’s technical curriculum, bridging the gap between traditional automotive mechanics and AV and EV mechanics. Your mission is to ensure all units remain "RO Capable" by standardizing hands-on instruction for complex diagnostics, high-voltage systems, and specialized sensor maintenance.
Scope of Responsibilities
Curriculum & Path Development: Lead the company-wide strategy for technician advancement, creating modules that transition staff from AV Tech 1 (Apprentice) to AV Tech 4 (HV Specialist).
Safety Policy Development and Training Own safety training with support from the FD&R team. Develop material and train technicians on Moove safety policies.
Tulip Implementation: Own the rollout and instruction of Tulip (our complete SOP and repair protocol platform). Ensure 100% compliance with digital workflows and use data from the platform to identify areas for retraining.
Advanced Hardware Instruction: Lead hands-on training for the removal, replacement, and calibration of the Self-Driving System (SDS) stack, including CIS (Camera Interface System), RADE (Radar/Encoder), and FLS (Forward Looking Sensor) arrays.
Safety & High Voltage Oversight: Develop and deliver specialized safety training Tuplifor High Voltage (HV) systems, focusing on battery faults, isolation faults, and DCDC/UVLO fallback events in accordance with NFPA 70E.
Operational Quality Assurance: Conduct audits on technician escalations and repair logs within Carman, Codex, and SAP to ensure standardized troubleshooting trees are followed before escalating to Engineering.
AVOM cross training
Middle Management Leadership Training: Equip AV Tech 4 / AV Tech 5 with the foundational leadership and management skills required to effectively supervise, develop, and coordinate junior technicians AV Tech 1-3 without pulling them away from technical excellence.
Infrastructure & Equipment Training: Certify the team on specialized depot equipment, including two-column lifts and the Stringo Vehicle Dolly for maneuvering offline autonomous units.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in advanced automotive, aerospace, or robotics maintenance, with at least 1 years in a dedicated Autonomous Vehicle (AV) environment.

Deep Technical Expertise in AV Systems: * Expert understanding of Level 4/5 AV Architecture, including Perception (LiDAR, Radar, CMOS Cameras), Localization, and Compute stacks.
Proficiency in Linux/Ubuntu environments and command-line interfaces for log analysis.
Mastery of diagnostic tools: CAN bus analyzers, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
System Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Tulip (MES/SOP software), SAP inventory management, and DiagDB diagnostic platforms.
HV Mastery: Documented experience with High Voltage systems and electrical safety protocols
Instructional Leadership: Proven ability to translate complex engineering Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and hardware specs into digestible, hands-on training for shop-floor technicians.
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent Master Technician certification).
Location: Must be authorized to work AND reside in Phoenix, AZ.
Travel: Up to 50%.
